Banker/Chip Manager - Ric ---------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------- And... the most amazing part was that this --------------------------------------------- |
Tues. Oct.
19,2010 -- UNBELIEVABLE! Out of 7
teams today, two teams had the exact same score, and every hole exactly
the same. Both teams had pars on the exact same holes, both teams had
birdies on the exact same holes. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! First place team came in with -9 for a score of 52 (course par is 61) and two 2nd place teams both had -7. What are the odds? Tie-breaking rules looks at the 1st hole with a birdie. Pars on holes 1,2, & 3, both teams had birdies on 4, pars on 5, birdies on 6 etc. Ric was AMAZED! Exactly the same on both scorecards. While waiting for the other teams to finish, Ric thought he could break the 2nd place tie by looking at the handicapped holes, starting with number 7 then 14 - amazing - exactly the same. Larry: "DUH! same score on every hole why would they be different?" (Flashing light bulb finally turns on!) Don S: "How come there are 4 scorecards, when only 3 teams have finished? Which teams are tied for 2nd place?" Ric checked the cards a bit closer and discovered both cards were from Team #3. No wonder the scores were exactly the same... Both Don and Larry, on separate carts, kept score and both turned in their scorecards. Lessons learned? 1. A-player/team leader needs to keep and sign "OFFICIAL" scorecard. 2. Banker/Ric needs to verify signed "OFFICIAL" scorecard, and identify the team number. (-- Like a Laurel & Hardy, Abbot & Costello, 3 Stooges, Marx Brothers Movie... You had to be there... ) |
